Maika Schneider moved from Germany to the US in 2017. She’s married with two beautiful children. Their birth experiences were totally different and she appreciates the knowledge she gained from her German midwife - always remembering the special, invaluable postpartum support! Childbirth and postpartum always intrigued Maika, as she loves seeing new families grow in confidence. In her experience, they often say “...if only I knew this before”. Understanding the unpredictability of parenthood, her hope in offering childbirth classes or doula care is excellent preparation for parents… to reduce fear and empower good choices, so they face whatever is ahead confidently. Maika is a certified BirthWorks Childbirth Educator, a DONA Birth and Postpartum Doula, and owner of Blissful Baby Steps. She’s on BirthWorks Board of Directors because she loves the personal approach and collaborating with birth workers to improve maternal care/birth outcomes. She hopes her contribution supports many aspiring birth workers to certify with BirthWorks and share this philosophy and approach globally.
