Training Workshop Policies:

Babies and Children at Workshops:

  • Due to experiential nature of workshops, participants receive maximum benefits when there is minimal distraction. Infants may be in the workshop only while breastfeeding or asleep.

Workshop Cancellations and Refunds:

  • Workshop registration payments are NOT refundable.
  • Before your register for a workshop, please do the following:
    • Note the workshop is one certification requirement (not the only one)
    • Visit our workshops landing page and click on the circle for your training workshop, to read about content and the experience. Please note we do NOT record workshops.
    • If you still have questions, or want to speak to someone in-person, please contact us to request a 15-minute free intro call.
  • If you can not attend a workshop AND you give 30-day notice – your payment is applied to the next available date. Without notice, you lose your credit.
  • If BirthWorks postpones a workshop, you are put on a the list for the next future workshop date.
  • Workshops attended are only valid for three years toward your Certification, after which you must attend a new workshop.
  • Reservations for airline tickets and accommodations (if not refundable) should not be made until you receive confirmation details about your workshop, about one month before start date.

Certificate of Attendance OR Certification:

  • Participants receive a “Certificate of Attendance” after attending our professional Workshops upon fulfilling three requirements: payment in full, attendance at all Workshop hours, and completion of an online Workshop Evaluation. This is not the same as Certification.
  • After attending a workshop, you are offered the chance to be listed as “BirthWorks-inspired” in our Professionals Directory.
  • If you decide later to join a Certification program to earn your BirthWorks professional credential (see below), the workshop you attended counts for three years toward those program requirements.

Workshop Discounts:

  • Early discount is always offered, if you pay in full by 30 days prior to the workshop start date.
  • Bring friends or family members and each person gets 20% off the following workshops (Childbirth Educator, Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, ACED) – all must pay within 24 hours, contact us for a discount code to share with your group.
  • Payment plans include two, three or six month options
  • Members get 10% off workshop fees (in addition to other discounts)
  • Scholarship requests are considered through BirthWorks BIPOC Scholarships, as well as for those in the LGBTQIA* community, or anyone requesting need-based supportcontact us are avail

Workshop Requirement:

  • To earn a BirthWorks Certification and your BirthWorks credential you must complete all registration requirements (including a workshop). You can take the workshop first or begin the Certification process first, that is up to you.
  • Workshops count toward Certification requirements for a three-year period, after which full payment and full participation in a new workshop is required. For a workshop to count toward Certification, you must take the workshop before or within the given program timeline:
    • Childbirth Educator – 24 months
    • Birth Doula – 18 months
    • Postpartum Doula – 12 months
    • ACED (Accelerated Childbirth Educator & Doula) – 30 months

Certification Discounts:

  • Military personal are offered 15% off certification. Please email us for your discount code
  • Join with friends or family members and each person gets 20% off the certification fee – all must pay within 24 hours, contact us for a discount code to share with your group

Extension and Mentoring Fees:

Re-Entry

  • If you can not complete all Certification requirements by the required timeline, you can purchase an annual Extension Fee (each year as needed), allowing you more time to complete your program. There is no Mentoring during the extension period.
  • After all of your work is completed, you need to pay a one-time Mentoring Fee, for it to be reviewed.
  • During any time you are paying for extensions, you must pay to maintain continuous membership in BirthWorks.
  • Leave of absence status can be granted for one year only if there are extenuating circumstances limiting you to do certification work. Please contact us to discuss this

Recertification and Membership:

  • You must fulfill all BirthWorks program recertification requirements, every two years, in order to keep your BirthWorks Certification valid and keep your BirthWorks credentials.
  • You must maintain continuous membership with BirthWorks after earning your professional BirthWorks Certification, in order to keep your BirthWorks Certification valid and keep and use your BirthWorks credentials.

Refunds & Returns of Products

Overview

  • If 30 days have passed since your product purchase, we do not offer any refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be retuned to us – unused and unopened, in the original packaging, and in the same condition you received it (no damaged or missing parts). 

Sale Items

  • Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges

  • We only replace defective or damaged items. To request an exchange for the same item, email info@birthworks.org with a description of the problem and mail it to: 42 Tallowood Drive, Medford, NJ 08055, USA. Depending on where you live, the time it takes for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.

Shipping Returns

  • Shipping costs are non-refundable. You are responsible for paying all shipping costs to return your item. (Do not send your item back to the manufacturer.) To do so, mail it to: 42 Tallowood Drive, Medford, NJ 08055, USA. We will not guarantee to receive your item. If you are returning more expensive items, consider a trackable service or purchase insurance.

Refunds

  • Once your return is received and inspected, it will be considered for approval or rejection. If approved, the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund. Then, your refund amount will be processed and a credit automatically applied to your credit card (or you will be sent a check if you paid by check).

Late or Missing Refunds

  • If you haven’t received your refund, first check your bank account. Next, contact your credit card company, as it may take time before your refund officially posts. Then, contact your bank to ask about processing time for a refund to be posted. If you still have not received it, email info@birthworks.org.
