Our unique and innovative BirthWorks Postpartum Doula Workshop focuses on how the practice of human values impacts the birth experience (which parents carry with them into baby care) and gives you key evidence-based information to help you help your clients. The expression and practice of human values develops character and increases confidence and decreases fear, both are important in your work as a doula. Postpartum doulas facilitate an easeful transition from birth into parenting a newborn.

BirthWorks Postpartum Doulas bring both a human-values approach and academic best practices, so the entire family can relax and find joy in the first precious weeks with their baby. Be able to recognize key medical and emotional symptoms and know how to best support mothers, as they recover from pregnancy and birth.

New parents put most energy into giving birth and often find they’re unprepared for going home – the fourth trimester! Most complications happen after birth in this postpartum period. You can bring ease by enhancing the mother-baby connection through positive tools to create a safe, loving environment.

Our workshop provides high-quality academic and emotional training for doulas and prepares them to confidently, and powerfully provide postpartum support under varied circumstances. Our training is focused on understanding how to reframe the powerful experience of time with a newborn into one that will empower the parents, help bonding, and set the family up for wellness as their child grows.
